How winners are chosen

Every store you scan is one ticket. The system picks winners at random from the tickets. Nobody chooses a winner by hand.

The four steps

From your first scan to the winner's name on stage.

TICKET

1Scan a store, get a ticket

Each different store you scan gives you one ticket. Scanning the same store again doesn't add another. Scans only count when your phone is on Oak Tree Road.

Thursday Friday ≠

2Each night is its own drawing

Thursday's drawing uses only Thursday's tickets. Friday's uses only Friday's. Scan on both nights and you are in both drawings.

Winner

3One random pick per prize

For each prize, the system picks one ticket at random from that night's tickets. Every ticket has exactly the same chance. More tickets means a better chance.

4Every draw is recorded

The prize, the winner, the time, and who pressed the draw button are saved in an activity log. Winners are contacted using the details they gave when they signed up.

Try a practice draw

Six sample visitors with different numbers of tickets. It follows the same rules as the real draw.

Press Draw a winner to pick one ticket at random.

Sample names and prizes for practice only. In the real draw, each night's tickets are counted separately.

Who is in the drawing

Included

  • People who agreed to enter the prize drawing when they signed up
  • People with at least one ticket that night

Not included

  • People who did not agree to enter
  • People who already won a prize
  • Passports the organizers disabled, for example after scans from outside the festival area or impossible movement between stores. This is done by hand and is saved in the log.

Your chances

Your chance = your tickets ÷ all tickets that night For example, if 800 tickets are in Thursday's drawing and you scanned 6 stores, you hold 6 of the 800 tickets for each prize. That is 0.75%. Scanning more stores means more tickets, and more of the road to enjoy.
